You’ve probably heard about this by now, but Lancôme is once again offering samples of Génifique. Unlike their most recent promo, however, this “Super Serums” promo only entitles you to one Génifique sample (instead of the 7-day trial pack they … Continue reading

RAVE: Lioele Blooming Gloss (Vanilla Pink)
I usually stay away from lip glosses because aside from the obligatory lip balm / SPF protection, the idea of something sticky, icky, and smelly on my lips is utterly unappealing. Basically, if you’re going to do lip gloss in my books, you really have to do it right. Otherwise, the downsides are just too numerous: sticky lips, gross taste, gross smell, etc.
So when I heard that Lioele had among its cosmetic line a divine-smelling lip gloss, I quickly seized the chance to meet my potential holy grail lip gloss. As the title so subtly imparted, I do believe I have found that HG gloss!

OVERVIEW: Julep June Mystery Box
I’m sure that, by now, most of you have heard of Julep and its polishes. But, for those that really don’t know, Julep is a Seattle-based company with both physical nail parlors and a great web-based subscription system. Subscribers to their Julep Maven program receive a monthly box with newly-released colors. A total of five “Style Profile” boxes exists, each with either two polishes and a skincare/bodycare/nailcare product OR three polish colors. When you initially sign up, you are recommended a Style Profile, but you can always switch to another Profile if the other colors speak to you more that month. (I’m usually Classic With a Twist, but I’ve skipped around to other Profiles.) The best part? You can skip a month or cancel anytime. Plus, you can try out a special intro box for just a PENNY! Use the code COLOR2012, PENNY, or COLORS4ONE to get your intro box for $0.01. It’s a win-win, really. If you want to cancel, just make sure to do it before the 24th of the month (or you’ll get charged for that cycle). Warning: You’ll probably not want to cancel. And you’ll probably get addicted. Fast. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I first got hooked in because I was looking for good 3-free polishes. I signed up for the intro box and the rest is history. I now have more Julep polishes than both my fingers and toes can handle.
The fun thing about Julep is that everything about them is girlmaximus cute. The boxes come super cutely packaged. They usually throw in adorable extras in their boxes (like Pixistix!). And then, once in a while, they come out with fun surprises. Like patriotic polishes for the 4th of July or Canaday Day. And like these Mystery Boxes.
For $19.99, you run the chance of getting $60-$200 worth of Julep products. And some even win the entire Julep collection of polishes! I had never ordered one of these Mystery Boxes before but I took the plunge for this month’s box. Mystery Boxes are fun because receiving one is like Christmas in __________ (insert month of the year when they release these boxes). If you happen to be home the day your USPS tracker updates to “Out for Delivery,” be prepared to become an insanely unproductive member of society because all you’ll do is stalk your mailwoman. Or maybe that was just me.
I was lucky enough to get one of their bigger boxes! My Mystery Box: Fast Dry Top Coat, Nail Therapy (base coat), Sandra, Emma, January, Taylor, Best Pedi Creme Ever, Pomegranate Scrub, Julep Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum, foot file, and nail file.
REVIEW: Origins Starting Over Age-Erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa
No matter how this review was going to go, thumbs up were going to go to Origins and Sephora. For Earth Day 2012, Sephora teamed up with Origins and offered a full-size bottle of either Origins’ Starting Over Age-Erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa or A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer with White Tea just by bringing in an empty cosmetic product container to a Sephora store for recycling. It didn’t even have to be an Origins container or even a container of a product sold by Sephora. These moisturizers retail for $46.00 and $39.50, respectively. So, really, thumbs up all around.
I was on the hunt for a good night time moisturizer so I opted for the SPF-free, Starting Over moisturizer.
Welcome!
Welcome to fraîchelook! Glad you’ve decided to tag along for the ride. This blog isn’t called “Small Talk,” though, so let’s just jump right into it, shall we?
